ALEX + TROY | KC WEDDING | KANSAS CITY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

Alex and Troy got married at the Grace United Methodist Church followed by a beautiful reception at the Ball Conference Center. These two were so great to work with and Alex looked absolutely stunning. I could seriously have photographed them all day long. Thank You Alex and Troy for having me share your heartfelt, emotional, and truly beautiful wedding day. I asked them to answer some questions to get to know them better and here what they had to say:

What’s the story behind the two of you, how and where did you meet?

Troy and I met our Junior year of high school in history class. We slowly became friends over that next 2.5 years as we started our college careers at Kansas State University and that friendship grew even stronger when we started dating in January of 2011. We've been together for about 6 years now and can't wait for all that life has to teach us about being husband and wife.

Can you tell me about the proposal and how it was done?

We decided to take a trip to San Diego in December of last year just the two of us. The first night we were there we went to dinner and then took a walk through Seaport Village. Out on one of the piers lit up only by the naval ships across the water, Troy proposed!

What led you to choose Photos by Neyan for your photography?

Neyan was the second photographer for my sisters wedding last year and we really liked and remembered her creative ideas and how she interacted with everyone. We were able to find her work online and decided she was the person we were looking for to capture our big day.

Do you have a memorable moment from the wedding day?

My favorite part of the day was when the church doors first opened and I saw all of our friends and family turned and smiling waiting to see me walk down the aisle. It kind of takes your breath away for a minute.

If you had the chance to redo the whole thing again, would you change anything?

I would try to be less worried about a timeline and the small details I thought were important when in the grand scheme of things they really did not matter. It's hard not to get swept up in all that is going on around you.

Any advice for future couples planning their wedding?

Try not to worry about the little things. Let someone else take care of the little problems for you. Try to focus on the day itself and soak it all in because it is over in a flash.
