You might remember this adorable couple from their Saint Joseph MO Engagement Session from last October. I was so excited and looking forward to documenting their wedding. These two are so in love and so perfect in front of the camera I absolutely love photographing them. They did get married on one of the hottest days of the year but they braved the heat while doing their portraits outdoors and didn't complain one bit and were all smiles. Their ceremony took place at Wellsprings Community Church and their reception was at The Grand Ballroom, which is a beautiful venue. There were lots of happy tears and lots of heartfelt moments throughout the day from Sydney’s first look with her dad which was really emotional and I think I even shed a few tears behind the camera to their gift exchange and Sydney walking down the isle. You could really feel all the emotions and I’m so happy we were able to capture all the beautiful and sweet moments for them. Thank You so much Sydney and Stephen. It has been a pleasure getting to know the two of you this past year. Enjoy your photos!
TELL US ABOUT HOW YOU MET?
We met through a mutual friend in my dorm room. Stephen played football in college and one of his teammates introduced us to each other (my freshmen year and Stephen's sophomore year of college).
TELL US ABOUT THE PROPOSAL?
His plan began by telling me about a month in advance that his family would be going on vacation to Colorado. I was about to begin my dietetic internship, so he knew that I wouldn't be able to go on vacation with his family. In the meantime, Stephen talked with two of my best friends (Anna and Abbey) and my parents to involve them in the plan. Anna and Abbey planned for the three of us to have a girls weekend beginning the day that Stephen left for his family vacation. The weekend would be spent at Lake Viking where Abbey's parents have a lake house. It just so happens that my parents also have a place at Lake Viking. My friends and I loaded up to head to the lake for a fun girls weekend. We stopped by Abby's house for a bit before going to a winery in Jamesport. Just as we were about to leave for the winery, my mom called and wanted us to stop by their lake lot before we kicked off our girls weekend. As I walked down the hill to my parents place and I turned the corner, I saw Stephen standing on our dock. I was in complete shock! I saw him and immediately started crying. I ran down to see Stephen and gave him a huge hug. Stephen got down on one knee and asked me to marry him on May 30, 2015, at Lake Viking. He also knows how important family is to me, so he made sure to have my parents, my brother, his parents, his brother, his grandma, and my two best friends there to witness the magical moment!
