My First Wedding of 2016 was Anne and Zak’s beautiful Wedding at Town Square Paola. You might remember them from their beautiful engagement session I posted last fall. These two are so sweet and adorable together. We were able to do some outdoor photos and I have to say they were such troopers to brave the cold. Thank You Anne and Zak for having us be a part of your day. It was a pleasure documenting your love.
ABOUT THE COUPLE
TELL US ABOUT THE PROPOSAL?
On Friday, August 21st, we had plans to go to a concert at Sandstone Amphitheater. I told Zak I would pick up food for us and meet him at his apartment. Of course I couldn't decide what to wear to the concert, so I threw a few outfits in a bag and decided I could figure it out once I got to Zak's apartment. I picked up Chipotle and headed to Zak's. Somehow on the drive over, our food started leaking out of the bag. When I got there, I grabbed my bag of clothes and the leaky Chipotle bag and trucked it all to Zak's door. Zak met me at the door and grabbed everything from me.
I walked in the apartment, and there were flowers and origami hearts scattered on the coffee table. Zak asked me to sit down on the couch. He sang John Legend's "All of Me" while I sat there with a giant goofy smile on my face. When he finished singing, he grabbed my hands and asked me to stand up as he got down on one knee. He explained that today marked the 1000th day of dating. We are both numbers people, so it was awesome that this day had a great number to accompany it. He asked me to marry him and I said yes!
We spent Friday evening at a concert. Saturday morning Zak told me to meet him at his apartment at 8:40am with a bag packed for one night away. I am not a good packer, and it's even harder when you are excited and have no idea where you are headed! We swung by Barnes and Noble to pick up a wedding binder and magazine and headed to the airport. Zak did all the bag checking so I was still in the dark about our final destination. We ended up on a flight to New York! We spent the day exploring the city, enjoying a great dinner and seeing The Lion King on Broadway! Seeing The Lion King in NYC has always been a life dream of mine, and we got to experience it together in the second row. It was the perfect way to celebrate starting our futures together.
