KANSAS CITY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER | HEATHER and CODY

Heather and Cody are such a sweet couple. I very much enjoyed working with them and documenting this special time in the lives for them. They got married at Wesley Covenant Chapel at UM Church of the Resurrection and their reception took place at the Aloft Hotel. They had a very casual and laid back reception and just wanted to enjoy the evening celebrating with their family and friends. Also instead of traditional favor they had caricature artist for their guests to walk away with fun caricature drawings of them, which was so fun, and such a cool idea and I think their guests enjoyed that very much. Thank You Heather and Cody for choosing me to document your love story. Enjoy your photos

~ABOUT THE COUPLE~

HOW THEY MET:

We met walking our dogs at our condo complex. Whenever we were out after that our dogs ran towards each other to play so we just “had” to stop and talk. LOL We found out that we knew some mutual friends that lived in the complex. This group started meeting for Taco Tuesdays and it was a great way to get to know each other even better before deciding to date.

THE PROPOSAL:

Cody and I went to my family’s house in Lincoln, NE for Thanksgiving. After the meal we decided to get some air and go for a walk in the Haymarket. Cody got down on one knee as we passed by the clock tower and asked me to marry him! There may have been a few joyful tears before the words “Yes!” came out. As soon as I said yes, the clock tower bells began to chime. It was perfect timing!

We included the clocktower in our invitations and ceremony. When they pronounced us husband and wife, children who were friends and relatives rang bells to signify the start of our new life together.

ADVICE FOR FUTURE COUPLES:

Enjoy every moment of it and be sure to hire a stellar photographer. Photos will remind you of things that you don’t even remember. Neyan was amazing on our wedding day! She has a creative eye for composing photos and has a great way of making people feel comfortable. She was very unobtrusive. After the posed photos, we didn’t even know when she was taking our picture.
