It has been such a joy getting to know Erin and Gary and document their love story. The day started out rainy but luckily cleared up just in time for us to get some fabulous photos. They got married at The New Life Community Church and their Reception took place at Thompson Barn. Thank You Erin and Gary for choosing me to be a part of your day. Congratulations again and Enjoy your photos.
~ ABOUT THE COUPLE ~
Tell us a little bit about you and your relationship? (When did you meet? How long have you been together? Or anything you would like to share: We met in 2007 after our good friends (also hairstylist) Mike and Kelly Cordray set us up on a date. We dated for 8yrs (yes…EIGHT YEARS!!) - When we decided it was finally time to "tie the knot”. Erin is a hospice nurse and Gary recently completed the fire academy and will soon be pursuing a career as a firefighter. We decided to get married only 6 months prior to the wedding! Needless to say...we lived, dreamt and slept - ALL THINGS WEDDING.
What was the best part or your favorite moment of your wedding day? We can’t pinpoint a favorite moment of our wedding day as the entire experience was phenomenal and simply breathtaking. The most memorable part of our wedding day actually came hours after we got home and had a chance to sit down and breathe. It was so humbling to witness how many people chipped in to make our wedding day so incredibly special. It was a day that we will forever hold deep in our hearts.
What was your Wedding Inspiration? DIY - yes.. DO.IT.YO-SELF!! We saved thousands (literally). It was a lot of work, but it sure did pay off. We also had our friends and family all create a letter “B” to incorporate in every centerpiece. We wanted to make our wedding unique for us. This singlehandedly was the best part of our theme - made the decorations very special…and we have keepsakes to showcase at home!
Bride: What advice would you give to future brides for their wedding day? Oh wow - well first, this is your wedding - so do everything the way you want to. We had bridesmen and a groomsmaid…we did it our way and loved every minute of it!! Designate people to take on jobs because you can't and will not be able to do it all yourself. Also, try to slow down and experience the day as it is over before you blink your eyes. Try not to focus on little things, BUT - I do encourage you to have someone in charge of time. Someone who will literally watch the clock and cue where to go and when - it's imperative!! Our lives would have been much easier had we thought of that.
Groom: What advice would you give to future grooms for their wedding day? Prepare for a long day - mentally and physically. Expect the unexpected and be open to interpretation. There will be a lot going on so live in the moment.
